The Great Famine Voices Roadshow also visited the Celtic Cross Irish memorial and Bytown Museum on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa, as well as the museum’s Collections and Exhibitions Manager, Grant Vogl.
The Great Famine Voices Roadshow Canada 2019 was held in partnership with Parks Canada. Its Senior Vice President of Operations, Trevor Swerdfager, welcomed the Roadshow to Ottawa.
Ottawa Valley Tour
Professor Mark McGowan (University of Toronto) brought the Great Famine Voices Roadshow on a tour from Ottawa of the upper Ottawa Valley to its Irish areas of settlement in the towns and villages of Shawville, Sand Bay and Castleford, Mount Saint Patrick, Douglas, and Eganville.
